Rio Carnaval: Photo Diary

So it’s been over a month since my trip to Rio de Janeiro to experience carnaval. It has always been on my bucket list to experience it one day and I’m glad that I did, even if it was just for a short period of time. I didn’t take many pictures (or a vlog) of this trip purely because I didn’t want to take my camera with me and lose it or get it stolen. So the pics that I did manage to snap I shall post it below as a small photo diary so you can see a small snippet of what I got up to during my time there.

We had chose to stay at Midas Rio Suites during our stay in Rio. It was quite far out to where the main carnival events were so we did end up spending majority of our money on travel. In hindsight/next time I would recommend staying near Ipanema or Copacabana area to save on travel.

We spent our first day relaxing by the beach drinking fresh coconuts.

The next day we used as our tourist day and went visiting around Rio.

Santa Teresa Beach

The Christ the Redeemer Statue

Maracanã Football Stadium

The Sambadrome area (Setting up for the grand parade)

The Metropolitan Cathedral

Escadaria Selarón also known as the ‘Selaron Steps’.

Lunch was included with our tour which we had booked through our hotel (included transport and entry tickets).

Suga loaf mountain

When we finally decided to tackle Carnaval…

It was such an amazing trip and I was glad to have some sunshine in my life. I wish I could have taken more pictures and videos to truly show and capture the environment but I guess the only way would be to experience it for yourself to understand. If I get the chance then I will definitely go again next year!

Stay tuned for the blog posts!
